What this tool does
The light pass rewrites the PDF with object streams and without redundant default pages. The strong pass rasterises each page at 96 or 140 DPI and re-embeds it as JPG, which is why scans and photo-heavy documents shrink dramatically.
Everything runs sequentially in this tab. Closing the page stops the job; no partial files are uploaded anywhere.
Questions people actually ask
How many files can it handle?
There is no fixed limit, but strong compression holds a rendered page in memory at a time. Very large batches take a while; the progress line shows the current file.
What if compression makes a file bigger?
The original is kept for that file and labelled. The summary totals the actual output sizes, so a loss is not hidden.
Does strong mode keep text selectable?
No. It renders each page to a JPG and rebuilds the PDF, so text becomes pixels. Use Light when searchable text matters.
