What this tool does
Each PDF page is rendered to a canvas at your chosen DPI and then encoded as WebP. Vector text and images are rasterised in the process, so the result is a picture of the page rather than a PDF object.
WebP is lossy at the quality you choose (90% by default), with no transparency added. It is usually smaller than JPG at similar quality.
Questions people actually ask

Screen (96 DPI) is fine for web previews. Standard (150 DPI) suits most documents. Print (300 DPI) is sharpest and slowest, with the largest files.
Is the WebP output lossless?
WebP is lossy at the quality you choose (90% by default), with no transparency added. It is usually smaller than JPG at similar quality.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and rendered in this tab, and the images are created locally.
