Crop a PDF page
Pull the white edges in or cut to a region. The crop box changes; the PDF stays a PDF.
- 1Drop the PDF
The first page is rendered locally so you can see what the crop will keep.
- 2Set the margins
Top, right, bottom and left in PDF points, or use a quick preset. The dashed box updates as you type.
- 3Crop and download
The crop box is applied to every page, or only the page range you name.
What this tool does
A crop box is the rectangle a PDF viewer is meant to display. This tool sets that rectangle with pdf-lib, so the page opens at the new shape in conforming readers without re-encoding text or images.
Margins are in points: 72 points make an inch, so 36 points is half an inch. Quick presets are just convenient starting values — every field remains editable.
Questions people actually ask
Does cropping delete the hidden content?
No. A PDF crop sets the visible area; the objects outside it usually remain in the file. If you need the content physically gone, re-render the pages to images first.
Do all pages get the same margin?
Yes, measured in points. Pages with different dimensions each lose that many points from their own edges. Check a mixed-size document before sending it out.
What about rotated pages?
The preview is page 1. Pages with a rotation are cropped in their stored coordinates, so the visual margins can look different. Use a page range if only some pages need it.
