What this tool does
PNG and JPG store pixels differently, so the image is decoded and redrawn rather than relabelled. That is what makes the output a real JPG file.
PNG transparency is preserved by PNG, WebP and SVG output. JPG, GIF, BMP and TIFF flatten it. JPG is lossy and has no transparency; transparent areas are flattened onto white. The conversion is deterministic and local: the same input produces the same output without a server in the middle.
Questions people actually ask
Is JPG output really from my file?
Yes. The PNG is decoded in this tab and re-encoded as JPG; nothing is uploaded or fetched.
What changes in the conversion?
PNG transparency is preserved by PNG, WebP and SVG output. JPG, GIF, BMP and TIFF flatten it. JPG is lossy and has no transparency; transparent areas are flattened onto white.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like; each is converted independently and the ZIP button collects them.
Does resizing lose quality?
Downscaling discards pixels, so yes. Leave max width at 0 to keep the original dimensions.
