Download one file, or grab the batch as a ZIP.
What this tool does
PNG and WebP store pixels differently, so the image is decoded and redrawn rather than relabelled. That is what makes the output a real WebP file.
PNG transparency is preserved by PNG, WebP and SVG output. JPG, GIF, BMP and TIFF flatten it. WebP is lossy at 90% by default, keeps transparency, and is usually smaller than JPG. The conversion is deterministic and local: the same input produces the same output without a server in the middle.
Questions people actually ask
Is WebP output really from my file?
Yes. The PNG is decoded in this tab and re-encoded as WebP; nothing is uploaded or fetched.
What changes in the conversion?
PNG transparency is preserved by PNG, WebP and SVG output. JPG, GIF, BMP and TIFF flatten it. WebP is lossy at 90% by default, keeps transparency, and is usually smaller than JPG.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like; each is converted independently and the ZIP button collects them.
Does resizing lose quality?
Downscaling discards pixels, so yes. Leave max width at 0 to keep the original dimensions.
