Convert HTML to Markdown

Scraped a page, got a wall of tags? Convert it back into tidy Markdown you can actually edit.

  1. 1
    Paste your HTML

Copy from source, a CMS export, or a formatted page — the Paste rich HTML button keeps the markup instead of the plain text.

  2. 2
    Choose the style

ATX headings (# vs underline), bullet character, code fence style, plus tags to drop or keep as raw HTML.

  3. 3
    Copy the Markdown

Ready for READMEs, docs, static site generators, notes apps.

Questions people actually ask

What about tables and code blocks?

Both convert properly, tables included — which is where most converters give up.

Will inline styles survive?

No — Markdown has no place for them. The content structure survives; the decoration doesn't.
