What this tool does
JPG and TIFF store pixels differently, so the image is decoded and redrawn rather than relabelled. That is what makes the output a real TIFF file.
JPG files are decoded as-is; there is no alpha channel to preserve. TIFF is uncompressed RGB here, not LZW- or JPEG-compressed. Expect large files. The conversion is deterministic and local: the same input produces the same output without a server in the middle.
Questions people actually ask
Is TIFF output really from my file?
Yes. The JPG is decoded in this tab and re-encoded as TIFF; nothing is uploaded or fetched.
What changes in the conversion?
JPG files are decoded as-is; there is no alpha channel to preserve. TIFF is uncompressed RGB here, not LZW- or JPEG-compressed. Expect large files.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like; each is converted independently and the ZIP button collects them.
Does resizing lose quality?
Downscaling discards pixels, so yes. Leave max width at 0 to keep the original dimensions.
