Remove audio from a video
Delete the soundtrack without touching a single frame — smallest possible operation, cleanest possible result.
The exported video has no audio track. Keep the original if you might need the sound later.
- 1Drop a video
MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV and most common containers are fine.
- 2Choose remove or silent track
Remove deletes the stream. Keep it silent preserves an audio channel for editors that expect one.
- 3Download
The result card names the method used — lossless copy, video-only copy, or the re-encode fallback.
Questions people actually ask
Is the video quality affected?
Usually not: the picture stream is copied untouched, byte for byte. If the container refuses that copy, the tool tries a video-only copy and then a careful re-encode, and says so on the result card.
What does 'Keep it silent' do?
It adds or silences an audio track instead of deleting it. Some editors and streaming setups behave better when an audio channel exists.
Can I replace the audio instead?
Not here — muting is the safe, common operation. Mixing new audio in deserves a proper editor.
