  1. 1
    Drop a video

MP4 and WebM are the well-trodden paths. Short clips finish fastest.

  2. 2
    Choose the sampling

One frame per second is the sane default; every N seconds or a fixed FPS up to 30. Format: PNG for crispness, JPG for volume.

  3. 3
    Extract and download

Up to 100 frames appear as cards plus a ZIP; above that it's one ZIP only. The live estimate says which before you start.

Questions people actually ask

The first use takes a while — why?

A 31 MB video engine has to load into the page first. It happens once per visit, on your machine, and it's the only big download the whole site has.

How long can the video be?

Guided by memory: a few minutes of 1080p is fine. For an hour of footage, a desktop video editor will be kinder to you.

Why is there no frame list on long clips?

Over 100 frames the page switches to one ZIP instead of 100+ result cards, which keeps it fast and light. Every frame is still in the ZIP.
